Summary:

Skye is the continuation and re-imagining of the prototype Glaze, this time in development for commercial release. A new art style accompanied by beautiful audio and new gameplay are on show as once again players take control of a friendly dragon as they explore a world filled with toys, collectables and denizens that need your help.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Level design - White-boxing areas of the game before populating the level with assets; making sure the environment was conducive to gameplay and game flow.

• Gameplay design - Working alongside another designer to come up with intuitive gameplay that fit with the serene and stress free atmosphere we were striving to achieve. This was tied into level design to enable good pacing and flow within the game. 

• Working with the programming team to prototype and implement mechanics.

• Preparing builds - Analysing the game to work out what needed addressed, finding new bugs and resolving submitted ones while making sure the team members had a prioritised list of tasks. 

• Creation of minor 3D art assets.

• Creation and maintenance of a large amount of concise and digestible documentation including several variations of the GDD and spreadsheets for audio, art and programming tasks to ensure a constant flow of work. 

About the Game:

Puny Astronaut is currently developing a gentle exploration game set in a world that couldn’t be happier to see you.

Wander around as the friendly flying dragon, Skye, dashing through dandelions, strumming crystal chimes, and diving for pearls in a sprawling coral reef. There’s no wrong way to play; help the ship captain find his golden treasure, or take your time flying around the countryside, the world is there for you to enjoy at your leisure.
